HomeWork 32:Tattoos & The Presentation of the Self

Through out time many people look at tattoos as a sign of power and strength/wisdom, but as time went on, people though it expressed individuality on one's skin and formed a new sub/main stream culture. Many people wonder why others get this tattoo all over their body, the misshape the human nature. In today's society people are influenced by others and are forced to realize that these tattoos are changing the way people look at each other. MSU education

Tattoos are looked at different ways, and many people can just get them by pouring ink on ones skin into a message for others. Back then the different tattoos one wore represent the role you have in that society, "Tattoos have served as rites of passage, marks of status and rank, symbols of religious and spiritual devotion, decorations for bravery, sexual lures and marks of fertility, pledges of love, punishment, amulets and talismans, protection, and as the marks of outcasts, slaves and convicts. The symbolism and impact of tattoos varies in different places and cultures."(Wiki)
These tattoos are honored by many and represents ones pride in these markings. But these tattoos never lost there value through out time, it always brand oneself and shows the restrictions in life

Even though people are influenced by such things, it is still just a tattoo, like hair is just hair no matter which way you style it. Little markings will place a person into a certain role, whether that person likes it or not. But it was still in the owners interest to get that "tattoo".

If tattoo's didn't exist than this world would find something else to replace it, there are many ways of showing ones pride or failure, and there will be no matter how humans develop. Tattoos cannot be questioned if it is cool, or not, since in this world there is no right or wrong in the category of cool, everything is cool and everything is not.
